Test Plan #3 - Drifting Accuracy

Test Procedure:

To test this, we are going to take our rover to a football field and set it to run along one of the field lines. We will set the rover to travel 30 ft, 50ft, and 100ft exactly at separate time. Once the rover completes the distance we will measure how far off of the original line the rover is. We can then do some calculations to determine how far our rover drifts per foot of travel.

Statement of Associated Engineering Specification:

For mission #1 our rover must travel 30 feet and stop within a two-foot radius of the ending point.

Target Value:

Drift accuracy within 10%

Pass/Fail Criteria:
Test Outcome:

The test will be considered a fail if the rover drifts 10% to the left or right of the desired location.

We have failed this test and this criteria many times both in test and in missions and have dertermined that a four wheeled design is necessary to pass this test. We changed the design between missions three and four.
