Test Plan #1 - Speed Test
Test Procedure:
In order to test how fast our rover can travel we are going to take the rover out to an open field and run code that will turn each motor at their maximum speed. The rover will be start on the baseline of a football field and will run for 10 yards all while being times. Once the rover crosses the 10 yard line the timer will stop. We will divide 30 feet by the time taken to travel and we will be left with a maximum velocity that will be faster than 1 ft/s.
Statement of Associated Engineering Specification:
Rover must achieve a minimum speed of 1 ft/s to be able to successfully pass mission #1.
Target Value:
Calculated speed greater than 1ft/s
Pass/Fail Criteria:
Test Outcome:
The test will be considered a fail if the rover can not travel at or faster than a speed of 1 ft/s.
We passed this test by travleing the 30 feet in just under 21 seconds, giving us a speed of just under 1.5 ft/s.
